2 – 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport
What’s New?
As a compact SUV, the 2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport can accommodate up to five people. An optional third row of seats is also available. There are three trim levels available, the HSE, SE and the HSE lux. The Discovery Sport was the all-new model for the year 2015 and rolls into 2016 with just a few changes. The infotainment system has a new app suite and home screen, and the Black Design package is currently available on the basic-level model. InControl Protect system of Land Rover is presently standard on all models. The InControl Remote app also adds extra functionality such as remote engine starting and locking and unlocking the doors.
Exterior Features
The SUV includes automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and rear park-assist sensors. There are front and rear recovery hooks as standard equipment. The SE Base model comes with 18″ wheels, automatic wipers, rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.
Interior Features
Equipped with seating for up to 7 people, the new Discovery Sport boasts a stadium-style second-row seat design which slides forward and back with 6.3 inches of travel; it also reclines for higher comfort. You can also expect cruise control, leather wrapped steering wheel, 10 speaker audio systems, Bluetooth audio and phone system and a dual zone climate control from the Discovery Sport.
Technology
Land Rover equipped all 2015 Discovery Sport with an 8-inch color touch-screen infotainment system including the InControl Apps technology and offered USB charging ports in all 3 rows of seats. Options include a surround camera system, head-up display, and an Advanced Park Assist with Perpendicular Park system which can steer the SUV into the parking space as the driver operates the pedals and transmission.
Engine/ Fuel Efficiency
The Discovery Sports are equipped with the modern 2.0L diesel engine that returned 57 mpg in the official EU fuel tests. The 2.2L diesel has a capacity of 240 horsepower, and as standard comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Safety
Each 2015 Discovery Sport is fully equipped with the Pedestrian Protection System, which includes a pedestrian airbag developed to lower injury in case the SUV collides with an individual. In addition, the hazard lights automatically brighten under any heavy braking, and a reversing camera is so sensitive
