What’s New?
The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek gets a slightly revised front-end design and loses the ‘XV’ which used to be at the beginning of its popular name. The Subaru’s Starlink telematics set with the emergency services makes its Crosstrek introduction, like some other new safety technologies (lane-change assist, the blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert). Minor interior trim upgrades and tweaks round out the changes.
Exterior Features
2016 Crosstrek gets a totally new front-end appearance with a modern grill, bumper, fascia, and the headlights. Many models get a modern wheel design, too. The 2016 Crosstrek comes with numerous styling changes. Among the changes is a rear-end that is altered in a significant way.
Additionally, the bodywork is such that this new SUV is extremely easy to identify with most of its features being decreased to make it look way more pretty and slim. Also, it has 8.7” of ground clearance and the standard 17-inch alloy wheels. The fog light of this new model is steering responsive, which is a safety feature that comes in handy for drivers in the US.

Interior Features
The interior of 2016 Subaru Crosstrek has a simple styling with padded surfaces, high-quality, and easy-to-use dashboard controls. The Crosstrek’s front and rear seats are spacious enough for six-foot occupants. Nonetheless, the Crosstrek Hybrid has reduced cargo space in comparison to many similarly priced SUVs.
Standard features include heated front seats, a rearview camera, proximity key, automatic climate control, push-button start and Starlink infotainment system of Subaru that features a six-speaker stereo, a touch screen, Bluetooth, a USB port, and smartphone app integration. Rear cross traffic alert and the blind-spot monitoring are new standard features for 2016. The Touring trim includes a leather upholstery, power moonroof, and an enhanced Starlink system with satellite radio and navigation.
Technology
This is where the Crosstrek actually got some great attention for 2016. With the addition of Starlink suite, the Crosstrek currently has an automatic collision notification with stolen-vehicle recovery, SOS, and even the monitoring app incorporated.
The standard 6.2” touchscreen is not bad, but the 7” system is a welcome upgrade, even if the additional navigation system is not the best out there. The Eyesight safety system provides a similar combination of utility and frustration. Adding features such as rear cross-traffic and lane-departure warning as well as blind-spot monitoring is an excellent way to raise value for money.
Engine/ Fuel Efficiency
The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek is power-driven by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine (instead of the pistons moving vertically inside the engine, flip the image 900 and just imagine them moving horizontally).
This engine generates 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of the torque. When the Crosstrek is fitted with the standard five-speed manual, EPA fuel economy ratings stand at 23 mpg in city and 31 mpg on the highway. The CVT (continuously variable automatic transmission) ups those figures to 26/34 mpg.

Safety
The 2016 Subaru Crosstrek comes standard with antilock disc brakes, traction and stability control, a driver knee airbag, side curtain airbags and front side airbags, a rearview camera, and the active front head restraints.
